When was the last time you used a pay-phone? I believe for me it was in 1989. They always grossed me out... germ infestation! Yuck....I really liked the whole phone booth thing tho, (reminds me of Superman). I saw this one the other day in town. Actually, I didn't even think there were any in existence. A little history on them... William Gray invented the 1st public coin phone in 1889. They were stationed on nearly every busy street corner. That ended a decade ago. . In 1998 there were an estimated 2.6 million pay-phones operating nation wide. That figure has declined to 1 million today. Reason? 250 million cell phones are in use. Great to think we have one out of a million here in Cody. WOW
