This is my black shadow. Miss Phoenix is just 2 and was always left in a kennel till a friend of mine rescued her. She was scared of people but mostly scared of woman. It took me just a week of talking to her thru the fence but as you can see now..... I'm her co-owner and she just can't get close enough to me. We have sleep overs when her dad is away and she follows me around, lays by my feet, sleeps by my side of the bed, licks me all the time, and thinks she is a lap dog as she slinks her way into my lap on the couch! My gourmet meals may have a little to do with her loving me! Cooked turkey burger with her food, well Cidney has that on her food so......fair is fair! She is just a sweet sweet dog!!!!!

CIDNEY SPORTING SHORTS

The million $ dog got surgery again. This time a tumor the size of a half dollar on the back of her leg. Outcome? Is malignant, a sarcoma of the connective tissue, but low grade so no radiation. Just gotta watch it now to see if it grows again. The shorts are because she is traumatized by the cone, (lamp shade or satellite dish as we refer to it.) She stood in the same spot and drooled the whole time we were gone. Solution..... a pair of dad's shorts...... As you can see she is so impressed!

RIP NUBBY 12/1/01-12/30/10

As tears flow down my cheeks I will never forget the Chunky Monkey. We lost Cierra December 30th after a 2 week battle with a tumor called "hemangiosarcoma." I started with her not acting herself one evening and a trip to the vet at 2 in the morning to find her abdomen was full of blood. Emergency surgery hours later revealed a tumor on the stump of her uterus. Dr. K removed the tumor and Cierra was recovering well at home, then 2 weeks later she was bleeding internally again. Back to the vet at 4 in the morning for an ultrasound to find she was bleeding from another blood vessel and not where the tumor was. We were then left with 2 options. A blood tranfusion from our other dog or euthanasia. The transfusion would maybe get us 2 more days so we decided to pick the later as it wasn't fair to let her suffer, let Cidney suffer, or let us suffer watching her knowing it was fatal in the end. I miss her greatly, all her kisses (we called it beware of licker), her 6 am alarm clock we called her gut, her sweet eyes, and her unconditional love! May you be sunbathing in the heavens above my girl! I LOVE YOU CIERRA!!!!!!!
